Come Celebrate Middleton’s 16th Earth Day Festival [April 30 12-3PM]

Enjoy a fun filled afternoon at the free family festival to celebrate Mother Earth. The Earth Day Festival will be held from 12-3 PM at the former golf course on Rt.114 (South Main St) in Middleton. Herman the DJ will provide music. The afternoon will include educational exhibits and active fun with sack races and parachute games. Science demos from Masconomet and North Shore Essex Tech environmental students, local mammal education, crafts, owl pellet dissection, toddler duck water game and so much more! IRWA and Greenbelt will have tables. Artist, “Nancy” will have her butterfly stick puppets. Sol Bean and other vendors of green and healthy food and products will be there also! Eco-friendly raffles will include a huge stone birdbath, mulch, firewood, painted tire swing, children’s and adult’s eco-baskets, award winning photographs, gift certificates and many other items! This year, for the first time, HELPSY will be on site taking donations of clothing, linens and shoes, to be reused and/or recycled, with a small profit to the Middleton Stream Team. Keeping textiles out of the waste stream helps us all. The Council of Aging will also have a tent, learn about all their programs. Learn about the BE FED Foundation, growing food at a local farm to supply the homeless shelters in our area.

Food will also be available at nominal cost at the event so come for lunch and stay the afternoon! The entire event and parking is FREE. The Middleton Stream Team (sponsor of the event) is a non-profit organization dedicated to environmental awareness and appreciation that ultimately leads to stewardship and protection of The Ipswich River, its tributaries and the surrounding wetlands and watershed of which Middleton is built upon. Any postponement, only if we get severe wind and heavy rains, will be announced on the team’s website, www.middletonstreamteam.org.

Learn and have fun outdoors, join us on April 30th 12-3PM at the former Middleton Golf Course on Rt. 114 in Middleton. FUN for all ages!
