Please join Sandy Rubchinuk, President of the Middleton Stream team and Chairperson of the Topsfield Fair Canning Department for an evening of education, demonstration and discussion. The average eater has no idea how much water goes into his or her diet. The hidden water, also called virtual water, behind food production makes up the majority of water that a person uses indirectly every day. Eating local foods, sustainable small farming, and preserving seasonal foods to lessen the need to purchase processed foods and foods that have been shipped for days will be the focus. Jeanne Blais will demonstrate dehydration and Sandy will do a mini canning lesson.  Both offer healthy ways to eat local all year long here in New England.  This event is free and at the Flint Public Library, Middleton at 6:30.
