The Earth Day Festival will be held at Rubchinuk Park on East St in Middleton in the soccer field this year. The afternoon will include the larger than life puppets of “Nancy” with dancing and parachute games and Eco-stories for grades 3 and up by Judith Black, a professional storyteller. Science demos from Masco and Essex Tech environmental students, insect and local mammal education, crafts, owl pellet dissection, toddler duck water game and so much more!  IRWA will be presenting a water conservation demo. Creighton Pond camp director and staff will be leading games and also educating about the natural local habitat and species.  Sol Bean and other vendors of green and healthy products will be there also! Middleton Electric (MELD) will educate about electric cars. Eco-friendly raffles will include a huge stone birdbath, mulch, firewood, painted tire swing, children’s and adult’s eco-basket,  Creighton camp session, a new wheelbarrow from Rocky’s hardware and many other items! Food will also be available at nominal cost so come for lunch and stay the afternoon!

     During the Earth Day festival the family or person that picked up the most litter in Middleton during the month of April will be honored and receive a gift!

     The entire event and parking is FREE. The Middleton Stream Team is a non-profit organization dedicated to environmental awareness and appreciation that ultimately leads to stewardship and protection of The Ipswich River, its tributaries and the surrounding wetlands and watershed of which Middleton is built upon.    Any postponement, only if we get severe wind and heavy rains, will be announced on the team’s website, www.middletonstreamteam.org  Learn and have fun outdoors join us on April 28th.
